A Chicago woman died Sunday after a fire in her second-story Uptown apartment. Antonette Starling, 40, of the 4700 block of North Malden Street was pronounced dead at 6:45 am in Weiss Memorial Hospital, about an hour after flames engulfed her apartment, said a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office Firefighters were called to the three-story building before 6 a.m., said Fire Cmdr. Will Knight. Starling was rescued from her bedroom and the fire was contained to the apartment, he said. No one else was injured.
