Uptown in the News
February 18, 2004
The development planned for the former Goldblatt's building on Broadway may be to Uptown what the Old Town School of Folk Music was to Ravenswood and the renovated Wieboldt's building was to Lincoln, Belmont and Ashland. That is, it may be THE project that changes peoples' perceptions of the neighborhood and in turn sparks further development. And the new Borders Books, scheduled to open in April, is only the first in a series of developments, including the just-announced new home for the Annoyance Theater in the former Heilig-Meyers building, that will send a surge of new life along Broadway this year.
