Bond was set at $2 million for a suspect charged in the March 26 fatal shooting of Uptown resident, Antwan Taylor, according to a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney. Kevin Dugar, 29, of the 4600 block of North Harding, was scheduled for a May 20 preliminary hearing at a May 1 court appearance before Judge Colleen Hyland, the spokesman said. He is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder, officials said. Around 7:55 p.m. on March 26, Taylor and another man left a building on the 4900 block of North Sheridan and began to cross the street when a man came up and began firing multiple shots from a 9mm handgun at them, according to Robin Mohr, spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department. Taylor, 27, of the 5000 block of North Kenmore, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died of a gunshot wound to the chest, Mohr said. The other man, 24, was hit twice but survived the shooting, she added. After an investigation, police arrested Dugar on April 30, Mohr said. The shooting is thought to be gang-related, she said.
